Flight Activity: A Mixed Bag with Year-Over-Year Growth

June 2025 showed a slight dip in activity compared to May but posted solid gains over last year. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Month-over-Month (June 2025 vs. May 2025): Total flights dropped by -2.25%, and total hours flown fell by -3.00%.
  • Year-over-Year (June 2025 vs. June 2024): Flights increased by +5.25%, and hours were up +5.79%, signaling sustained growth in business aviation data year-over-year.
  • Year-to-Date (2025 YTD vs. 2024 YTD): Through June, flights are up +3.49%, and hours climbed +4.08%, indicating a healthy and robust first half of the year.

The year-over-year uptick suggests operators are flying more, likely fueled by steady demand for flexible, on-demand travel. Let’s see where those jets were headed.

Top Routes: East Coast and Vegas Dominate

Using our proprietary flight mapping engine, we’ve identified the busiest routes for June 2025. The data highlights a mix of business-heavy corridors and leisure-driven routes:

  • KIAD (Washington Dulles International Airport) ↔️ KTEB (Teterboro Airport): This route remains a top performer and is a perennial favorite for corporate travelers.
  • KLAS (Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas) ↔️  KSNA (John Wayne, Orange County Airport): Leisure and business travel converge, with Vegas-to-OC flights thriving.
  • KHPN (Westchester County Airport) ↔️  KTEB (Teterboro Airport): Short hops in the Northeast corridor continue to drive traffic.
  • KBOS (General Edward Lawrence Logan International Airport, Boston) ↔️  KTEB (Teterboro Airport): Another East Coast business corridor with steady activity.
  • KLAS (Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas) ↔️  KVNY (Van Nuys Airport): A West Coast staple, reflecting Vegas’s pull for high-net-worth travelers.

Compared to June 2024, most routes held steady, though KOPF (Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport) ↔️ KTEB (Teterboro Airport) dropped off the top 10, replaced by KHPN (Westchester County Airport) ↔️ KIAD (Washington Dulles International Airport). This shift suggests a pivot toward DC-area connectivity, possibly tied to political or corporate activity. Track these routes in real time with JetSpy’s Traffic Reporting tool for deeper insights.
